A hometown family event offering handmade crafts, farmers market, pumpkins, hamburgers,
hot dogs, watermelon, chowder and clam cakes, 4-H demonstrations, horse drawn wagon rides,
music, apple pie contest, photo contest, award ceremony and much more.
Located in the pavilion at the West Greenwich Town Hall, Hianloland Fire Company, Louttit Library.

Land Trust Photo Contest

Hianloland Volunteer Fire Company will be selling chowder and clam cakes. These recipes have been handed down from
generation to generation and continue to be delicious. Hianloland uses the money raised to continue to serve its dedicated
volunteers and the community around us. Stop by for lunch and ask about becoming a volunteer! Volunteers are always needed!
- 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm: Fry Pond Wagon Ride
Join the Rockwell Family of Edgewood Farm for a wagon ride on the trails around Town Hall and parts of the Fry Pond
Conservation Area. Learn about the history and many different points of interest on this 80-acre property. Seating is limited on a first come first serve basis every 20 minutes.

These ladies have their own unique twist on Morris Dancing, a traditional dance form from the British Isles. Based in Rhode
Island since 1998.
- 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Woodsman Demonstration
Learn how it was done in the past. Two-man crosscut saw, logrolling, bow saw and much more demonstrated by the
Future Farmers of America.
- 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Justin Pomfret
Justin is a singer songwriter from Coventry, RI. and will sure to entertain playing a mix of pop, rock, country and originals.
- 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm: B'Wana Iguana Adventure
Two Shows! B'Wana Iguana Adventure is an exciting interactive program that both entertains and educates people of all
ages about the mysterious world of reptiles and amphibians. Back by popular demand!
- 2:00 pm: Born to be Wild
Born to be Wild Nature Center is a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center dedicated to helping injured and orphaned wildlife
. They specialize in the care of Hawks, Owls and Falcons and will showcase these beautiful birds among the grounds.
- 2:30 pm: "History of the Forestry Industry of West Greenwich"
Join Town Administrator Kevin Breene in this one hour discussion about the history of the Forestry Industry in West
Greenwich. Guaranteed to be a favorite of the day!

Best Apple Pie Contest
1st Place $50.00, 2nd Place $25.00 and Third Place $15.00 will be presented during award presentations at 4:30pm. The
Contest is open to anyone wishing to bake an APPLE PIE. There is a youth and adult division. See age requirements below. Only
Double Crust Apple Pies will be accepted, no Crumbles, Crisps, Betty's or Pan Dowdy's allowed. Pie MUST be checked in by 1:00 p.m. on contest day (9/30/17).
Late pies will not be entered into the contest. No other fruits may be added (juices OK). Pies
that need special handling, refrigeration or heating elements are not allowed. We recommend that pies are baked in disposable
pans only, as pans will not be returned. Pies will be scored on Appearance, Crust, Filling and Overall Flavor/Taste. The top three
winners in each division will receive prizes. Following judging, the pies will be sliced and given to the crowd.

Land Trust Photo Contest
The West Greenwich Land Trust is looking for digital photos of natural, scenic and
historic areas throughout West Greenwich to be used in the Land Trust's web site, publications, newsletters, etc. Digital photos no larger then 2MB, 300 DPI will be
accepted no later then Friday September 22, 2017 on the Land Trust web site(see link below). The top three photos chosen for "The Best of West Greenwich" will be
awarded 1st $75.00, 2nd $50.00 and 3rd $25.00. All photos entered will become the property of the West Greenwich Land Trust and each participant will receive
credit when his or her photo is published. Digital photo awards will be showcased and honored at the WG Town Hall Pavilion at 4:30 pm at Celebrate West Greenwich.
